Welcome to Triber Tales, our ongoing blog series featuring Bari stories told from our clients’ points of view. These are tales of hard work, dedication and a whole lot of sweat; these are a testament to the mental and physical potency of having a strong, close-knit community at your disposal. This week, we’re turning the mic over to the Triber who coined the term Bariddicted, Sudie.

But, first, an introduction to Sudie’s Bari journey from Alexandra…

I really need to tell you guys this. Since Sudie started Bari (literally the week we opened), she has lost over 60 inches and 20 pounds. I’m always drilling our team about results, and how much we need to emphasize that and make it our priority. And even though Sudie is a walking example of results, she’s also a living reminder of why Bari is so much more. She transformed her body, and the pictures below make pretty obvious how, but the most important and meaningful transformation was in how she infused passion and dedication into her life, every day of the week, in and out of the classroom.

Sudie is a team player. She has come up to me or other instructors and said things like “I’ll stand next to the new girl and explain the sequence a little” when she sees someone getting lost in class. She cares about every triber in the most amazing way, and everyone that works out here knows they can reach out to her with any question, comment or concern and she’ll have sound advice. Everyone can relate to her in some way - the fashion girls, the models, the moms… Everyone has connected with Sudie.

Sudie is compassionate and grounded, and even though she knows she’s changed, she doesn’t really know. She doesn’t really know how young she looks, how amazing her body looks, how her face radiates happiness and health even when she’s not having the happiest or healthiest day. Because Bari isn’t a commitment or an appointment for Sudie. It’s her way of life. She accomplished what we all want to accomplish. She embodies who we are, what we stand for as a company and as a team.

Sudie, we love you so much. Kevin, Sydney, James and you are family to all of us. You inspire this team every single day to work harder towards having the best possible company we can build so we can touch more lives like yours. Thank you for your loyalty, your passion and your energy. Thank you for letting us into your life. You have shaped this company and our team more than you will ever know.

I started Bari just after I stopped nursing my son. He hadn’t slept through the night once in those 16 months.

I think I had gotten a good night’s sleep for about a week when I saw an ad on HRPMama’s for Bari. I went to the first class, and I loved it. I needed to love it because I had let my body go. It took me four years, four miscarriages and four IVF’s to have two kids. My body was a wreck, and I was about to turn 45.

At first, I went two times a week thinking that was all the time I had to give to exercise. I was seeing results and was proud that I made it to Bari every Monday and Wednesday. Something happened though. I started wanting more. I felt stronger. I had more endurance. I liked how I felt. It began to be hard to leave the studio if I knew there was another fun class going on.

I sat down with Alexandra and she suggested a weekly regimen. I thanked Alexandra for spending the time with me, and honestly, I walked away laughing at her. Six times a week? Privates? That wasn’t me.

I was the girl that got away with being overweight because I was silly and self deprecating. I hadn’t liked my body since I was 14 - why would I start now? So I just kept going to class when I wanted, stayed for a second class when I felt like it and scheduled a private when my schedule didn’t work with the Bari schedule.

On top of my growing love for Macros, Micros and Drips (Bounce hadn’t been introduced yet), I worked with the Bari nutritionists. For the first time ever I learned which foods actually worked for my body. I got to a weight I hadn’t seen since high school (well…I touched on it briefly for my wedding). I will never forget screaming with the nutritionist when we looked at the scale. I was in disbelief. I was also in disbelief when Alexandra told me I was working out at Bari between 10 and 12 hours a week. I had become addicted. Addicted to Bari, addicted to feeling great and addicted to shopping! Trying on clothes became fun! Chasing my children was fun. Living was fun.

So today I am a 46-year-old mother of two. I don’t have the most perfect body in class. I’m not a size 0 and don’t want to be. I’d still like to see a few changes in my body but doesn’t everybody? I am happy and healthy and have tons of energy. I owe it all to Bari’s method and its staff. I am inspired by each and every person at Bari. Their smart, youthful, innovative approach to everything is contagious. I can’t get enough.

Bari is my second home.
