Between the movie debut (hello, Leo… #swoon), hearing the soundtrack thumping in class and maybe even re-reading the book (cough, Kara and Michelle, cough), we’re immersed in the magnetic energy of Fitzgerald’s classic story. One quote specifically incited our summer spirit and inspired us to make the most out of this season of resurgence: “I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

With BariPEEL ending, BariHamptons opening for its second year and summer finally arriving, we’re viewing this summer through a lens of renewal and seizing it as a new beginning.

The palpable buzz of the spring is all about preparation. We were able to break out of our winter slumps reinvigorated and motivated by the milder months ahead. (Thanks, BariPEEL!) Now that those spring months are wrapping up, the focus shifts to how fully we can commit ourselves to what we’ve prepared for all spring. Whether you picked up new nutrition or workout habits with PEEL, worked your #baributt off in the office or made an important life change, summer is the time to celebrate your accomplishments and solidify them as everyday habits.

Think of this upcoming season as a way to recommit yourself to you. Find your perfect balance of work and play, health and indulgence, planning and spontaneity. 2013 is nearly half over, so check in with yourself at this annual midpoint. Let go of what has not worked for you, celebrate what has and commit to beginning again.
