Countdowns never seem to go out of season, do they? In December, all we can think about is the pending new year. In spring, we’re focused on the countdown to summer (and, if we’re being honest, how many BariMACROs we need to take to get bikini ready after winter’s hibernation).

But, for me, fall always feels like the true season of countdowns and new beginnings. ‘Back to School’ infiltrates the city (and shopping); the kids get their supply lists; the time comes to pack up life in the Hamptons and head back to the city. For us New Yorkers, Fall brings with it the countdown back to routine, normalcy and life as we (usually) know it. (And my birthday.)

But, this fall, I’m counting down to my wedding date. Seventeen days to go (but who’s counting).

To preemptively answer your impending questions: No, I’m not nervous. Yes, my dress is white. No, I’m not crash dieting. Yes, I’m sure he’ll be waiting at the altar.

Oh, and, yes, I’ll still be teaching at Bari.

These next few weeks, before all of Venezuela and the Dominican Republic land in New York City for the big day, I’m aiming to teach once a day so I get the chance to see all of you before I leave on my honeymoon.

Look out for my name on the schedule - while it’s still Alexandra Perez - and sign up for class. A few last sweat sessions before I come back a married woman. (Word on the street: Once you have a ring on your finger, you become a more brutal instructor. Okay, I made that up. But now I want to live up to it.)

Check out the schedule.
