I was introduced to a group of Egyptians while I was in college. They quickly became my best friends, and I became so impressed by their way of life that I jumped at the opportunity to spend a month with them learning everything I could about their culture, and loved it. Egyptians have a way of life that is filled with energy and laughter, while remaining devoted to their religion. It’s not very often that you find a group of 20 year olds that throw parties without alcohol until 5am, and step away in the middle of the night to pray. Needless to say, their youthful energy and discipline are equally balanced to create an impressively mature society.
We think we’ve had a big year in Bari… and then we see Egypt! The youth of Egypt succeeded in the unimaginable, and this is only the beginning. There are a lot of changes to come in 2012, and we only hope that the country stays as beautiful and the society stays as kind hearted as we know it to be.
We’re so lucky to be around for such an amazing history event. We can only hope and strive to create a culture at Bari that resembles the grace and discipline that the youth in Egypt portray. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them.
Cheers, 2012. Let’s make big things happen.

When I graduated from college, my mom, Patricia, who is the person I admire the most in the universe, wrote me a letter with tips to empower me to face the real world. I read that letter every once in a while, but I hadn’t read it since I opened Bari, and when I read it today it moved me again like the first time I opened it. The letter consists of 12 tips. I’ll share a tip with you guys every few days, I hope you enjoy them and that they inspire you as much as they did me.
Love,
Alexandra

What makes them amazing: Started in 2010 by Brian Linto, UBB is a clothing brand that promises to remove a pound of trash from the ocean for every product sold. To date they have cleaned over 82,000 pounds of trash!
This season their ocean inspired graphic tees, bags and jewelry are cool “Nautical Nostalgia” for men and women. I’m proud to say that my purchases have already contributed to the cleaning of oceans. You too can be a part of it! Check out their products and “The Blue Movement”

This satisfying soup is free of all animal products and can even aid in the detoxification process. Green leafy veggies are alkalizing, full of fiber, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. They are the MOST frequent missing ingredient in the modern diet, so this soup is a wonderful way to get your greens in for the day, while aiding in digestion and elimination to support your month of cleanse!

Hello, from Costa Rica! It’s been five weeks since I’ve been away from New York City, and my body has finally adjusted to the slower-paced life of the jungle. Although I miss the Bari Tribe terribly, living in nature is nutrition heaven! Just down the street from the hut I like to call home, I have the Harmony Hotel Juice Bari… it’s not only organic, most of the ingredients are grown right behind the juice bar! Spending my days in open air, sipping my green juice, my mind is exploding with ideas for Bari Apotheke, and I can’t wait to bring the jungle back to you…
Until then, I’ll share some photos, along with a few tips and tricks when it comes to my favorite pass time: juicing.
Tribe Tip: Drink a green juice daily (this is the perfect time to pick up a green juice habit, while we’re inspired by cleansing for the month of January)! I have been experimenting with adding ingredients such as basil, cilantro, and arugula to my juices. These powerful greens have the ability to detoxify the liver, give us energy, and tend to enhance the flavor of a regular green juice! It definitely helps to alkalize my system (especially after enjoying a cup of my favorite organic Costa Rican coffee… Buenos Dias!).
Happy juicing!

It’s a New Year, and we’re kicking it off in a big way! 2011 was amazing, and we couldn’t have done it without you, Tribe. Thank you, for being the greatest clients we could ever ask for, and for joining our family.
Our family has grown significantly since our opening in April 2011, and now, it’s time to protect our brand… our friends at Lucky Ant have been generous enough to help us with our first big project of the year: Trademarking Bari. We have six days to raise $5,000 and we can’t do it without your help! Please take a second to make a donation, share it with your family and friends, and help us start the year off the best way: here’s the site. We’re forever grateful for your continual support and dedication.
Love,
The Bari Team
I’ve never made a New Year’s Resolution… I don’t know why. Coming up with a resolution at the new year seemed more like an “everyone’s doing it” moment, surrounded by false determination that we all know will deteriorate come February… but this year I’m stronger, healthier, and more motivated than ever, and I’m overflowing with resolutions for the New Year.
We’re one step ahead of the game at Bari: we’ve been inspired each month by a theme to improve our every day lives. Without even thinking about it, I went from anti-New Year’s Resolution to having monthly resolutions… And I have to say, being able to focus my energy to something new every month has been both inspiring and rewarding.
2011 was a big year for all of us at Bari (Bari didn’t exist this time last year!), and with a new company, we’re constantly working on building a great foundation in order to have an even greater future. Always looking ahead, our monthly inspirations remind us what’s important, keeping us grounded and dedicated to the day-to-day.
Coming up to the year’s end, I have decided that instead of walking into 2012 with false pretenses of accomplishing my long list of goals, I’m going to keep it simple: Continue to devote each month to Bari’s Inspiration, setting higher standards with every new month, while remaining focused on health and wellness.
I invite the Tribe to join me, as we welcome 2012 together.
Cheers, to the New Year!
Sara
